During the Patriotic War, Aghdam region's Zangishali village was also subjected to artillery fire by the enemy. Despite this, the residents did not leave the village and were engaged in agriculture. The repair of the village school also continued. After the war ended with the victory of the Azerbaijani army, the renovation works have been speeded up.

Village resident Fikrat Aliyev says that he also studied at this school: "I went to the 1st grade here in 1970. My grandchildren, children have also been pupils of this school. Currently, it is named after a martyr. This is our pride. Every time, I passed by here, I thought that it needed repairs. All of us thought that this school needed overhaul."

Taking into consideration this necessity, the building of Aghdam's Zangishanli village secondary school built in 1969 has been repaired. The facade of the building has already been changed, windows have been renewed.

Foreman Hasan Guliyev says that at present, painting works are underway inside the building.

The boiler room and pumping station were located in the basement in the previous building. From the security point of view, difficulties related to heating arose in winter months. After the overhaul, the boiler room and pumping station have been constructed in the yard of the school. Thus, heating problems have been eliminated at school.

Classrooms, labs, sports halls, auditoriums, library, cafeteria have been built in accordance with modern standards. Football, basketball playgrounds will be constructed in the yard after it is renovated. The school will be commissioned on the eve of the new academic year after it is provided with contemporary equipment.
