Deaths from COVID-19 in Europe increase over last 7 days

Over the past week, more than 2, 100, 000 people have been infected with COVID-19, over 28, 000 coronavirus patients have died in Europe.

According to the World Health Organization, in the last 7 days, coronavirus cases have increased by 8% and death cases - by 5%. In one week, 64% of coronavirus cases and 57% of death cases have been registered in Europe.

Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has expressed concern over the unfair distribution of vaccines. He has noted that the unjust distribution of vaccines and the inconsistency of measures in the medical field lead to the protraction of the pandemic.

According to him, in accordance with the official statistics, COVID-19 has led to the death of 5 million people, but the real figures are higher than this. He has stressed that the current pandemic is the crisis of solidarity.
