As earlier reported, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva and their daughter Leyla Aliyeva attended on December 24th the opening of Baku White City Central Boulevard street and familiarized themselves with the mainly completed Park Bloc.

One of the factors attracting attention is the restoration and preservation of the white oil double cleaning facilities firstly applied in Baku in 1863 and earlier located in the newly created green lane. Thus, maple, olive, palm, pine trees have been planted in the green relaxation zones; the trees growing in the territory of the White City for many years will also be transferred here.

Respecting the historical heritage of the Black City, the world's most advanced white oil refining facilities in the 19th century, and the pavilion that provided clean water to the population in the 1890s and 1940s have been restored.

The retaining walls surrounding the oil reservoirs dating back to the XIX century have been preserved; a pedestrian passage has been paved to the Olympic bloc across the walls.

A set of stairs to the park has been set up in the newly laid green lane, and the granite monument about the project's history has been created.
