The admission rules to a master's degree of Azerbaijan's higher education institutions and the National Academy of Sciences have been simplified, the State Examination Center has said in a statement.

It is noted that in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated January 13, 2020, it envisages the conduction of the master entrance exam in one stage – the assessment of knowledge on logic, informatics and foreign languages.

Earlier, bachelors took exams in two stages – the assessment of knowledge on logic, informatics and foreign languages and the assessment of knowledge on specialty subjects.

Bachelors, who get "satisfactory" grades at exams, are allowed to the specialty selection.

It is noteworthy that the entrance exam changes have not impacted the content of the exams and the number of stages, and as earlier, those, who want to study the specialty master’s degree and journalism, have to take an ability exam after passing the first stage of the exam.
