“Armenia has occupied 20% of the Azerbaijani territories and committed ethnic cleansing against the civilian Azerbaijanis in the occupied territories, as well as Khojaly genocide,” said President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at the panel discussions on Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict held within the framework of the Munich Security Conference.
The head of state also noted that Nagorno-Karabakh is an inalienable part of Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity is recognized by the whole international community.
President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan will not put up with the fact of occupation: “The Armenian leaders have attempted to maintain the status quo by all means. Azerbaijani IDPs must return to their lands. More than 80% of the armed forces in the occupied territories are Armenian soldiers. They consider that they can keep these lands forever. Never!”

The head of state emphasized that we should resolve this conflict in stages – the liberation of one part of the territories and return of IDPs. The status of Nagorno-Karabakh can be determined later. The issue of the status should not be confused with the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. “The OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs should explain to Armenia that Nagorno-Karabakh is not Armenia. No country has recognized Nagorno-Karabakh,” the President highlighted.

He said that the Armenian Prime Minister had unsuccessfully commented on the UN Security Council resolutions. He forgets that the UN Security Council resolutions demand the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian troops from the occupied lands.
