Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev paid a working visit to the Kingdom of Norway on May 23-25, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has reported.
During the visit, Fariz Rzayev met with Secretary of State of the Norwegian Foreign Ministry Eivind Vad Petersson, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and Defense of the Norwegian Storting (Parliament) Ine Eriksen Søreide, Head of the Storting's PACE Delegation Ingjerd Schou and Equinor Vice President Gustavo Baquero.
During the meetings, the officials hailed the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Azerbaijan - Norway diplomatic relations, as well as business trips and cultural events. They discussed the strengthening of peace, the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the post-conflict period, as well as initiatives to establish regional cooperation.
A roundtable meeting with researchers from the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI) discussed the normalization processes in the South Caucasus during the post-conflict period and current international and regional issues.
During the visit, a concert of the Isfar Sarabski Jazz Trio and diplomatic reception was held at the Litteraturhuset Center in Oslo on the occasion of the Independence Day of Azerbaijan, as well as the 30th anniversary of Azerbaijan - Norway diplomatic relations.
