Sergey Lavrov: “We highly appreciate Mehriban Aliyeva’s visit to Russia”

"We have highly appreciated the visit of Mehriban Arif Aliyeva to the Russian Federation, her meetings with President Putin, Prime Minister Medvedev, chairperson of the Federation Council Matviyenko, her participation in the very important opening ceremony of the "Azerbaijan" pavilion at the National Agriculture Achievements Exhibition and at the Interregional Forum, and we will definitely implement the initiatives discussed during this visit," said Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov at the reception of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

"These initiatives are related to the addition of a new topic – the topic of innovations and high technologies to our intergovernmental economic cooperation; a special road map will be created. In several days, the Intergovernmental Commission will review the situation of the work in this field.

Another interesting and, I consider, very important outcome of the visit of Mehriban Arif Aliyeva to the Russian Federation is reaching an agreement on holding the Russian-Azerbaijani Youth Forum regularly. This is of high importance in terms of legacy, the preservation of the historical memory and the upbringing of the young generation both in Russia, and Azerbaijan in the atmosphere of friendship and neighborhood".
