Azerbaijani President: "I pin hopes on youth"

"Corruption and bribery are the things we have inherited. Therefore, to get rid of this, surely, enlightenment works should be carried out; the right policy should be pursued, and generations should change," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the opening ceremony of the "ASAN Hayat" complex in Shamakhi.

The head of state noted that he pinned hopes on the youth: "I pin hopes on the youth, as young people grow up in the new atmosphere and in the period of independence. However, the point is how we fight against it. I want to say once again that we cannot succeed only with administrative and punitive measures in this struggle. Along with all these measures, institutional, systematic reforms should be carried out".

The head of state reminded that the new stage of reforms began after the presidential elections last year: "During my inauguration ceremony, I presented our main strategic development parameters, and currently, we follow this road consistently".
