The smear campaign conducted against Azerbaijan by some foreign circles and the steps needed to be taken against such campaigns have been discussed on Azerbaijan Television's "Main topic" talk-show presented by Rufat Hamzayev.

Editor-in-chief of the "Azvision.az" website Vusal Mammadov noted that the comparisons made in connection with the Azerbaijani and Armenian economy by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the meeting dedicated to the results of last year disturbed some foreign circles: "They started announcing fake figures and wanted to show that Armenia was allegedly ahead of Azerbaijan on some indexes."

According to chairman of the United Diaspora of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis, doctor of legal science Hikmat Javadov, the Azerbaijani media are not recognized on an international scale: "Due to the fact that our local press is not read, we cannot change the opinion of the international community by our national media. What should we do then? In this case, we should closely cooperate with foreign mass media. The articles written and read by us do not have an impact abroad."

Chairman of the League of Democratic Journalists Yadigar Mammadli emphasized that we can deliver our messages to the international community through the Turkish media: "Sometimes, even the Turkish media obtain information about us from the third source."
