It will be possible to obtain the documents required for adoption from the information database of state bodies. A new subsystem has been created in connection with this procedure. This step will create an opportunity for objective, transparent and operative management in the field of adoption.
Consultations were held with a number of international organizations, experts, NGOs; normative-legal acts were investigated during the creation of the subsystem. As a result, the project on "The rules for the adoption of children deprived of parental care, as well as adoption of children with the Azerbaijani citizenship by foreigners and stateless people" has been prepared. This rule has been approved by the decree of the head of state dated February 27, 2020.
The age requirement for candidate parents is 30 for single people and 25 for married people. The cases not allowing adoption and concrete requirements about the revenues of a family have been determined after the further evaluation. In general, information about all stages of the process will be entered to the subsystem, and the subsystem will allow to render adoption services online.
Along with electronic applications, special windows will also be created at DOST centers for citizens. In turn, it will create an opportunity for them to take part in interviews comfortably and find answers to questions.
In the future, the state will apply some concessions to those who adopt children with disabilities.
