President Ilham Aliyev: "Our flag is our source of pride. Our flag is our life, our heart"
On the eve of the State Flag Day, Azerbaijani President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev gave our people the news they were looking forward to: Today, the Azerbaijani flag is waving in Shusha.
After the President's nationwide address, hundreds of thousands of people took to the capital streets and avenues with the Azerbaijani flag and shared their joy regarding Shusha victory. Azerbaijan, probably, has not experienced so much joy, pride, Azerbaijan has not shown so much love for the flag over the past century. The liberation of Shusha from the Armenian occupation after 28 years overlapped with the Flag Day. November 8, 2020, when the Azerbaijani flag was hoisted in Shusha, will go down in the Azerbaijani history. Azerbaijani President, Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has written this glorious page in our history.
Our flag is our source of pride, one of our state symblos. The State Flag Day was established at the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated November 17, 2009. On December 4 of the same year, Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) announced November 9 the State Flag Day.
The victorious Azerbaijani army liberates our territories under the leadership of Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and waves our tricolor flag in the territories which have been longing for this flag for a long time.
Our people are confident that all our territories will be liberated from the Armenian occupation. As the head of state said, the Azerbaijani flag raised in those territories will be brought to the Freedom Square and demonstrated there. That day is near.
