Azerbaijani alpinists have immortalized the memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War in the Gizil Gaya massif of the Greater Caucasus mountain range.

A group of alpinists has installed a memorial plaque on one of the unnamed peaks in the Gizil Gaya massif which is at 2, 783 meters above the sea level.

The figure 2, 783 reflecting the number of the martyrs in the Patriotic War has been engraved on the memorial plaque which is in the shape of Khari-bulbul (Ophrys caucasica).

The peak in the territory of the Shahdagh National Park and near Khinalig village is located on Khinalig-Galakhudat travel route. In the future, it will play an important role in informing local and foreign tourists about the Patriotic War.
