The Day of Azerbaijan has been organized, and the iftar table has been opened in the "Ramadan Tent" set up in the "Poklonnaya Hill" at the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva with the organization of the Moscow Muslims Religious Department and with the support of the Russian Muslims Religious Department and Moscow government.
Public figures, representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora, nearly 1, 000 Muslims of various nationalities took part in the iftar event. Addressing the event, advisor to the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Zaur Pashayev, director of the Moscow Muslims School Anas Hazrat Mammadov expressed gratitude to Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva for the organization of the iftar table, as well as to the organizers of the "Ramadan Tent".
The organizers of the "Ramadan Tent" awarded Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva with a letter of gratitude for the high appreciation of the religious-moral values. The film talking about the multiculturalism traditions in Azerbaijan was demonstrated at the event; pupils of the Moscow Muslims School performed religious songs and recited poems; the "AMOR" and "IRS-Naslediye" journals were also distributed. Prior to the iftar, verses from the Quran and the evening prayer were recited.
Afterwards, the Muslims opened their iftar, tasted meals and sweets from the Azerbaijani cuisine.
It is noteworthy that the "Ramadan Tent" is organized in order to strengthen the friendship between peoples, unite representatives of numerous nations living in Moscow and practicing Islam. The representation of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the Russian Federation actively participates in this project annually and opens iftar tables for religious people.
