On May 17, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev called his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
According to the President's Press Service, the Azerbaijani President congratulated the head of state of Kazakhstan on his birthday, wished him success in his presidency and health for the prosperity of the country.
Kazakhstan's President expressed gratitude to the head of state of Azerbaijan for the attention and congratulations.
The heads of state expressed confidence that the friendly relations between the two countries would further develop.
President Ilham Aliyev informed Kazakhstan's President about the recent developments on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. The Azerbaijani President noted that currently, the process of the clarification of the borders is ongoing, and the Armenian side gives an inadequate reaction to that. Applying to the Collective Security Treaty Organization is nothing more than Armenia's attempt to internationalize this issue, and this is completely groundless. No confrontation has occurred on the border, the situation is stable, and the negotiations are underway.
