According to operational information on the activity of a reconnaissance-sabotage group of the Armenian armed forces in Kalbajar region of Armenia-Azerbaijan state border on May 27, diversion groups crossed our state border at around 03:00 and attempted to carry out mining and other acts of provocation within our territories, the Ministry of Defence informed.
According to the preliminary information, two reconnaissance and sabotage groups from the opposite side crossed the state border in two directions.
One of the groups contained 9 servicemen, the other one 15 servicemen. The movement of reconnaissance and sabotage groups was taken under control. The units of the Azerbaijani Army took immediate operational measures against both groups of the enemy when they were carrying out mining activities on supply and other crossings in Azerbaijani territory.
As a result, 4 military servicemen, including an official, from the first reconnaissance-sabotage group, while two servicemen from another one, in total 6 persons have been disarmed and detained. Geographical coordinators of the territory, where the reconnaissance-sabotage group was detained, are: N 40°09′06″; E 45°58′07″.
Other Armenian military servicemen immediately left our territory and withdrew.
