President Ilham Aliyev, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva plant trees on Jidir Plain

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have planted trees on the Jidir Plain. 

Today, the spirit of victory is prevalent in the territory of Azerbaijan. The liberation of the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, the crown of Karabakh Shusha is the symbol of our historical victory. The reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev revive these places; the damage done to the ecological system by the Armenians is eliminated. 

Within the framework of the campaign on planting 44, 000 trees in honor of the 44 days leading to the Victory of the Azerbaijani people, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have planted trees on the Jidir Plain. 

The measures taken for the restoration of the ecological balance in the liberated territories also envisage the Topkhana forest. Within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation's project, volunteers of the "Regional Development" Public Union have held a tree-planting campaign in the Topkhana forest. 

The Topkhana forest is the treasure of Shusha. Here, there were various ancient trees. However, the Armenians looted our natural resources, destroyed our forests during the occupation years. As a result of the ecological terror launched in November of 1988, thousands of trees in the Topkhana forest were destroyed.
