27 years pass since the creation of the New Azerbaijan Party founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev. Today, the New Azerbaijan Party has become the unity symbol of the Azerbaijani people overcoming a long historical road.

After Azerbaijan restored its independence, a number of objectives were set for strengthening the state sovereignty. However, geopolitical and geo-economic factors created serious obstacles for achieving this task. On the one hand, the ungrounded territorial claims of Armenia against our country and its occupational policy created obstacles for Azerbaijan to pay attention to the state building. On the other hand, there were no professionals for fulfilling this wish. The political course pursued by the anti-nationalistic forces caused outrage of the people. A group of Azerbaijani intellectuals predicting the national disaster applied to Heydar Aliyev. They went down in history as "The 91".  

On October 24th, the national leader responded to the intellectuals via "The Voice" newspaper. As a matter of fact, it was the well-rounded analysis of the real situation and the accurate national action plan showing solutions to it.  

The creation of the New Azerbaijan Party was the logical outcome of the events taking place in our country and the concrete result of the then existing public-political conditions. Currently, the New Azerbaijan Party is the leading political force in the country. The party’s ideas and policy are backed by the Azerbaijani people. The expansion of the party and the fact that it has over 700, 000 members clearly prove it. Since the party was founded, it has won all the elections. Its future goals are clear: preservation of independence, sustainable economic development, the social welfare of every Azerbaijani citizen…

The clear contours of the domestic and foreign policy play an exceptional role in earning the trust of the majority of the society. In the background of the tensions in the region, today, Azerbaijan is known as the "stability island". The harmony of the people-power makes it important, and the Azerbaijani people are the provider of it. The stability factor plays a fundamental role in the economic development of the country.
