On November 20th, an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the UN Convention on Children’s Rights was held in New York headquarters of the UN. Children and young activists played a role of ministers and heads of states at the UN General Assembly Hall.
AZTV.AZ reports that our young diplomats represented Azerbaijan Republic at the session. At the start of the event, Deputy UN Secretary General Amina Muhammad delivered a speech. She read UN Secretary General Antonio Gutierrez’s speech on the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention. Afterwards, UNICEF goodwill ambassadors – world-famous football player David Beckham and British actress Milly Bobby Brown, UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta For and others gave a speech.
