Iran has called for an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers, referring to the telephone conversation between Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Iran’s Acting Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the assasination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.
The Iranian official stated that this incident poses a serious threat to regional security and stability.
Bagheri Kani called for an extraordinary meeting of the OIC foreign ministers.
He also spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud to discuss the emergency meeting.
