1, 000 words taken out of orthographic dictionary, new words added

The seventh edition of the “Orthographic Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language” is planned to be prepared by the end of the year.

Currently, works are being carried out for issuing the new edition of the “Orthographic Dictionary of the Azerbaijani Language” and its distribution to libraries. According to some innovations, nearly 1, 000 words have been taken out of the dictionary. Approximately 4, 000 new words have been added to the dictionary. The newly added words are mainly of national and European origin.  

100, 000 samples of the vocabulary are planned to be issued.

It is noteworthy that the dictionary prepared on the basis of the orthographic norms is issued every 5 years and presented to the public.
