The 25th anniversary of secondary school N 12 named after prominent scientists, ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in Ukraine’s Irpin city has been marked.

AZTV.AZ reports that officials of Irpin City Council, diplomatic representatives of foreign countries, employees of the Ministry of Education, representatives of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Ukraine and SOCAR’s representation in Ukraine took part in the event.  

Prior to the event, flowers were laid in front of Zarifa Aliyeva’s bust in Irpin city; her memory was honored.

Afterwards, director of the school Valentina Antonenko greeted event participants and spoke about the success of the education institution. Then, pupils of the school greeted diplomats in their languages, including in the Azerbaijani language.

Wide information was provided about academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and a video was displayed.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ukraine Azar Khudiyev noted that academician Zarifa Aliyeva has made a significant contribution to Azerbaijan’s medical science. Azerbaijan has always brought up prominent figures, and Zarifa Aliyeva was one of them. He highlighted that the existence of a school, park and central street named after the prominent scientists located in Irpin city has become the unwavering bridge of friendship between Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Azar Khudiyev also expressed his gratitude to director of the school Valentina Antonenko for the contribution she makes to the warm relations between the two countries.

Afterwards, the event continued with a concert program.
