The Center for the Major Repair and Service of Helicopters will be constructed in the territory of the Zabrat airport.
The foundation of the Center for the Major Repair and Service of Helicopters has already been laid. The repair of 4-6-various modifications helicopters is planned in the first years of its activity.
It will be the only facility of this type in the region. The Center will be constructed in accordance with the decisions of the Azerbaijani-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in connection with the development of civil aviation. The project will be implemented together with the Russian Helicopters Joint Stock Company.
The establishment of the Center for the Major Repair and Service of Helicopters is the continuation of the economic policy of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in connection with the development of the non-oil sector. The Center will serve the strengthening of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia; moreover, workplaces for highly qualified experts will be created. Furthermore, regional operators of the Russian helicopter equipment will also be attracted at the Service Center in the future.
