Azerbaijan Television "Madaniyyat" channel will hold the Festival of Azerbaijani Vocalists.
Director of "Madaniyyat" channel, author of the Festival’s idea and artistic director Ramil Gasimov told AzTV about the Festival to be launched on December 17th. He said that this is a nationwide project. According to him, the Festival of Azerbaijani Vocalists will be held in Azerbaijan for the first time with the support of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Culture.
The main purpose of the Festival is to develop and promote the Azerbaijani classical music and form the high musical taste of the young generation.
"The Azerbaijani musical culture is connected to the deep roots, its rich treasure has been formed throughout centuries. The Azerbaijani classical vocal performance is an inalienable part of our culture. This art, which foundation was laid by great singer Bulbul, is represented and promoted today by famous vocalists in various places of the world.
Our prominent singer Bulbul created a unique art piece by blending the eastern and western culture – classical and national vocal styles. Later, the wave of vocalists with the unforgettable voices emerged. Surely, we can only be proud of such rich culture, as today’s growing generation learn and appropriate something by listening to those classics.
I am sure that the new project of Azerbaijan Television "Madaniyyat" channel supported by the Culture Ministry of Azerbaijan Republic - the Festival of Azerbaijani Vocalists will make a significant contribution to the development of this genre, because at this festival, we will enjoy the performances of vocalists of various ages, as well as experienced ones.
Definitely, all this is the result of the attention and care our state shows for representatives of culture, and we are proud of carrying this responsibility on our shoulders. If the state did not support us in the realization of our ideas, it would be impossible to implement such projects.
As you know, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and personally First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva attach great importance to cultural projects and keep them in focus. The organization of intercultural dialogue forums, large-scale festivals and various types of events on a regular basis is the vivid example of this. This attention and care have inspired us and laid the foundation for the execution of this Festival. I hope that we will live up to the expectations," Ramil Gasimov said.
