"Next year, a number of changes are planned to be made in the field of education. The document on the transition of a master’s degree from 2 to 1 stage will be submitted to the government. Next year, innovations are expected in the vocational education; student dormitories will be constructed," said Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov in an interview to Azerbaijan Television.
Thus, in accordance with the consultations with both higher education institutions, and relevant bodies, it is proposed to make an examination to a master's degree one stage. A bill has been prepared in connection with this, and it is set to be submitted to the government next year. Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the carried out reforms are executed based on the international experience, and it will lead to the increase of the number of master students.
He noted that in 2019, the number of the students studying on the account of the state has sharply risen. According to Jeyhun Bayramov, this year, the number of the students studying on the account of the state has reached from 12, 300 to 20, 500 or by 60% compared to last year. The scholarships of about 110, 000 students have increased on average by 20%.
A number of innovations are also expected in the vocational education. Thus, next year, new vocational education institutions will start operating with the participation of foreign partners; student dormitories will be built. In 2020, it is also planned to make 90% the school preparation level of 5-year-old children in pre-school preparation classes. At the same time, next year, the program of schools’ specialization will be expanded.
The usage of new textbooks prepared and tested for first graders is also planned in 2020 in accordance with the new model.
