President Ilham Aliyev has turned Azerbaijan into a significant factor in Europe’s energy security. Our country is already the leading country in the implementation of the Southern Gas Corridor and TANAP projects. The joint exploration of “Azeri”, “Chirag” and “Guneshli” fields and the signing of a new agreement on the oil extraction share has once again proven that Azerbaijan is a decisive factor in the world’s energy industry.
As a result of the policy pursued by President Ilham Aliyev, the process of the transitioning to the market economy has completed in the country. Four state programs on the social-economic development of regions have been adopted for the diversification of economy, the sustainable growth of the non-oil sector and regions
The overall growth tempo of the economy has led to the growth of the non-oil sector, industrial production and the non-oil export. Large-scale projects have been implemented for the revitalization of the traditional agricultural fields. More than 2 million new workplaces have been created in the country; the unemployment and poverty rate has sharply declined. The Davos Economic Forum has placed the Azerbaijani economy in the 35th place on its competitiveness.
Azerbaijan already implements vast projects. ASAN Service centers, DOST agency have started operating. Azerbaijan, which has been an active member of the world cosmos club since 2013, now has 3 satellites in the orbit. The electricity potential of the country has significantly increased; 30 power stations have been constructed; the natural gas supply across the country has risen to 95%. Oghuz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline project has been successfully implemented; our country’s transport independence has also been ensured; highways with the length of over 15, 000 km have been paved. Azerbaijan has completed all the works for the implementation of the “North-South” transport corridor project. The International Sea Trade Port Complex turning Baku into the modern logistical and transport center in the Caspian region has been constructed. Baku Shipyard Factory has been commissioned; 6 international airports have been commissioned. One of the biggest projects of the country’s independent period Baku-Tbilisi-Kars has been successfully commissioned.
President Ilham Aliyev, who has created one of the 50 strongest armies of the world, has played a significant role in the formation of the combat ability of the armed forces and technical equipment and created the strong military industrial complex in the country. This army liberated some part of the territories of occupied Fuzuli, Jabrayil and Aghdara regions from the enemy in April of 2016. In 2018, it liberated the 11-ha area of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic from the occupation. As a result of the head of state’s activity, the international community has become sure that Nagorno-Karabakh is the native Azerbaijani land and Azerbaijan will never agree with the creation of the second Armenian state in its territories.
One of the main priorities of President Ilham Aliyev’s activity is to improve the living conditions of the IDPs. To achieve this, so far, over 100 settlements and towns have been established in the country; 300, 000 people have settled there. The renovation works in Jabrayil’s Jojug Marjanli village have laid the foundation of the “Great Return”. The state has always held the leading positions in the solution of the social problems of families of martyrs. The preservation of the national moral values in the country, reconstruction of the sacred Islamic temples, as well as the attention and care for other religions have turned Azerbaijan into the dialogue and tolerance venue in the world and the multiculturalism center.
President Ilham Aliyev says that it is impossible to leave behind honor, ethics, good attitude towards people, patriotism in any case. It is always necessary to love the Motherland.
