In accordance with the order of head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan Republic Samir Nuriyev, "The Action Plan on the events on the 30th anniversary of January 20 Tragedy" has been approved.

In accordance with the document, it is planned to hold events in connection with the marking of the January 20 Day as the symbol of Azerbaijan's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, organize conferences, meetings and lectures reflecting the January 20 events, screen spectacles, feature films and documentaries dedicated to the tragedy at cultural centers.

It is planned to widely cover in media the events connected with the 30th anniversary of the January 20 Tragedy.

To draw the attention of the world community to this tragedy, the diplomatic representations and communities of Azerbaijan in foreign countries have been given the task to hold relevant events, prepare materials about the January 20 events in different languages in the world's leading mass media, as well on TV channels and networks, including written publications.

According to the action plan, special lessons dedicated to the tragedy will be conducted at all education institutions of the Republic. Humanitarian assistance will be rendered to the families of those who became martyrs during the January 20 events. All the necessary works will be carried out at the Alley of Martyrs; religious ceremonies dedicated to the tragedy victims will be organized.

Moreover, it is planned to organize the visit of the capital public to the Alley of Martyrs on January 20th, commemorate the memory of the martyrs across the whole country with one-minute silence at 12:00, lower the Azerbaijani state flag in all cities and regions of the Republic, villages and settlements in connection with the 30th anniversary of the January 20 Tragedy as a sign of mourning and other events.
