The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Azerbaijan has started issuing ballots for the snap parliamentary elections to be held on February 9, 2020.

For this purpose, on January 27, chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov and the Commission members visited the publishing house of Milli Majlis (Parliament) and familiarized themselves with the printing process and the conditions created at the publishing house.

Addressing the event, Mazahir Panahov highlighted the importance of printing ballots on time, as well as complying with the legislation requirements in their distribution to the election commissions and gave his recommendations.  

The chairman said that the requirements for the text, form, number and preparation rules of ballots in connection with Milli Majlis have been determined in accordance with the Commission's decision, and it is planned to print 5, 387, 600 ballots. After ballots are printed, they will be distributed from the Central Election Commission to election commissions and from there to precinct election commissions.

It is noteworthy that the protection of the printing process of ballots is carried out by the Special State Security Service of Azerbaijan Republic.
