Touching upon the ecological issues at the conference dedicated to the results of the first year of the execution of "The State Program on the Social-Economic Development of regions of Azerbaijan Republic in 2019-2023" on February 3, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said that the tree-planting process will be continued. For this reason, new seedling areas will be created in Azerbaijan.
Serious preparations are underway for greening events. Last year, nearly 2 million seedlings planted in the forestry of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources were used in the greening in various areas of the country. Some parts of the trees planted were of mulberry origin. This year, it is planned to plant more trees than last year.
It is noteworthy that last year, the area contaminated with iodine-bromine was cleaned in Baku's Surakhani district. 55, 000 trees of various types were planted in the 66-ha area. These trees grow in 95% of the cases.
A survey will be conducted on the official Facebook page of the Ministry on where they want greening zones to be created.
