The growth was observed in the number of tourists visiting Azerbaijan last year. It also proves the forecast that in 2020, the number of tourist will also increase. If last year, 3 million 170 thousand tourists visited Azerbaijan, this year, 4 million tourists are expected to come to the country.
The fact that today, tourism has become one of the main export commodities in Azerbaijan is the result of the calculated policy. Moreover, it has happened in a short period of time.
Of course, the ensuring of security is the main condition for tourism. One of the other factors is infrastructure. Currently, large-scale projects are implemented in the capital and regions. Experts say that the renovation of the road infrastructure in regions, providing with sustainable electricity and reaching the high level of gasification, especially showing the state support for entrepreneurs interested in this field play an irreplaceable role in the development of tourism.
Opportunities for benefiting from concessional loans are given to entrepreneurs to take the tourism sector to international standards. In parallel with that, large-scale works are carried out to promote Azerbaijan's tourism potential in foreign countries.
Works will be carried out to expand the tourism opportunities to wider geography as well.
