“Karabakh that late Bakhtiyar Vahabzade called “mother” is our issue as well as Azerbaijan’s. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem within Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity is our biggest dream,” said President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyib Erdogan after the signing ceremony while making the joint statements with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

He noted that Turkey will further continue to support Azerbaijan in its righteous fight: “Unfortunately, I have to note that the Minsk Group does not behave sincerely on this issue, because approximately 25 years have been lost. Why have no results been achieved? Surely, we have to concentrate on this as well.”

The Turkish President also spoke about the 28th anniversary of Khojaly genocide: “It is the 28th anniversary of Khojaly massacre. One of the biggest atrocities of the XX century was committed against innocent elderly, women and children in Khojaly before the eyes of the humankind. 613 people, including 106 women and 63 children, were brutally murdered. We have not forgotten and will not forget Khojaly massacre, which has gone down the history as the “black night”. I know that my Azerbaijani brothers and Karabakh IDPs carry Khojaly as the incendiary fire in their hearts. On the 28th anniversary, I once again curse those, who committed Khojaly massacre on my behalf and on behalf of my people. May our brother Ibrahim, who has become a martyr as a result of the fire opened by the Armenian side, rest in peace. I extend condolences to the Azerbaijani people.”
