Within the framework of the complex reforms successfully carried out in Azerbaijan Republic under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, over the last years, the coverage and efficiency of the social protection system has been further increased; progress has been achieved in the improvement of management in the field of social protection and the ensuring of addressability and transparency.
Along with this, consistent and immediate measures are underway by the Anti-Corruption General Directorate under the Prosecutor General's Office in order to bring to justice high-ranking officials who have abused power and violated citizens' rights.
According to the joint statement of Azerbaijan's Prosecutor General's Office and Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, as a part of the measures, the Anti-Corruption General Directorate under the Prosecutor General has investigated the information claiming that a bribe was demanded at Jalilabad Region Department of the State Social Protection Fund for assigning social aid and pension.
As a result of the investigative measures, it has been detected that head accountant of Jalilabad Region Department of the State Social Protection Fund Parviz Isgandarov has demanded 3, 700 AZN for assigning targeted social assistance and pension.
A criminal case on Article 311.3.2. of the Criminal Code has been launched in regard to the fact.
Parviz Isgandarov has been detained on criminal charges.
