A landmine explosion occurred in the village of Papravand in the liberated Aghdara district, according to a joint statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).
It was reported that Sarkhan Bakhtiyar oglu Rustamzade, born in 2005 and a resident of the Tartar district, was riding a horse in an uncleared area when the horse stepped on an anti-personnel mine. Rustamzade sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The injured citizen was evacuated from the hazardous area by ANAMA personnel.
An investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Tartar District Prosecutor’s Office.
“ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again call on citizens to comply with safety rules, pay close attention to mine hazard signs, refrain from touching suspicious objects, stay away from unfamiliar areas, and avoid entering fenced-off territories,” the statement emphasized.
