A concert program marking September 18, the National Music Day of Azerbaijan and the 141st anniversary of birth of genius composer and founder of professional Azerbaijani music Uzeyir Hajibayli was held in Rome, Italy.
Co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Italy and the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Rome, the event gathered representatives of diplomatic corps, academic circles, Azerbaijanis residing in Italy, foreign students, as well as media representatives.
In his remarks, Elchin Huseynli, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Italy, highlighted the significance of the occasion, briefing the participants on Uzeyir Hajibayli’s creativity. The diplomat described the young Azerbaijani musicians working and studying in Italy as bridges connecting the two countries’ peoples and contributing to maintaining cultural dialogue.
Speaking at the event, Gulnar Taghizada, Deputy Director of the Azerbaijan Culture Center in Rome, highlighted the crucial role of Uzeyir Hajibayli’s works in promoting the Azerbaijani culture on a global scale.
Subsequently, a video highlighting the life and creativity of the genius composer Uzeyir Hajibayli was screened, followed by a concert program.
