FIFA President shares post on his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev

FIFA President Gianni Infantino expressed his gratitude to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for supporting FIFA and for hosting the first-ever FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026.

In a post on his official Instagram page, the FIFA President said: “I was honoured to meet with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Baku to thank him for supporting FIFA and for hosting the world at the first-ever FIFA U-15 World Cup & Festival 2026!

The President of Azerbaijan understands the role football can play in giving opportunities to young people and uniting communities. I am pleased to have his backing as we look to continue our football development projects with the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan.”
