President of Laos visits “Yanardag" State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve

As part of his official visit to Azerbaijan, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith visited the "Yanardag" State Historical, Cultural and Natural Reserve.

The President of Laos was provided detailed information about the reserve.

Yanardag’s most valuable treasure is its continuously blazing flames. These eternal fires were ignited by natural gas leaking from cracks in solid rocks, caused by tectonic processes deep underground in a layer approximately 14 meters long. While similar natural gas fires exist in several places worldwide, most are found right here in Azerbaijan.

Subsequently, President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith viewed an exhibition of handicrafts hosted at the “Yanardag” State Historical, Cultural, and Natural Reserve.
